About this role
Controls Engineer at Dana leading PLC logic reviews, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement in a final assembly plant. Responsible for electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, PFMEA documentation, and vendor interfacing for system design and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review PLC logic and debug for content, data collection, and error-proofing
- Lead root cause investigations and downtime reduction
- Co-develop inspection criteria, gage requirements, and control documentation with QE
- Develop PFMEAs, Operator Instructions, Control Plans, and Process Flow Charts
- Support CI programs and cost savings initiatives (VA/VE, MCM)
Technical Overview
Proficient with Rockwell PLCs using RSLogix 5000 and RSLinx; PFMEA/Control Plans; Process Flow Charts; CAD tools (AutoCAD/ACAD) and VisView for operator guidance; lean manufacturing and CI methods including 7Step, Fishbone, and 5 Why.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level controls engineer with 3+ years of experience in manufacturing automation, proficient in RSLogix 5000 and RSLinx, and strong PFMEA/Control Plans capabilities with a track record of continuous improvement.
