About this role
As part of Mohawk’s Work-Based Learning Program, the Creeler supports creel operations by managing yarn supply, changing packages, removing empty cones, and stopping the machine when breakouts occur. The role also includes daily autonomous maintenance, participation in quality improvement, and following standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep proper yarn supply close to the creel and change packages efficiently
- Remove empty cones and hang correct yarn (splice if necessary)
- Patrol creel and stop the machine if breakout, when necessary
- Assist the operator in doffing a warp/roll
- Perform daily autonomous maintenance and participate in the Quality Improvement Process
Technical Overview
Non-technical but hands-on manufacturing support focused on yarn/creel handling: monitoring yarn run state, changing packages, hanging/splicing yarn as needed, and assisting with doffing a warp/roll. Requires basic math capability and completion of on-the-job and health/environmental safety training.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a qualifying high school junior or senior (at least 17 years old) enrolled in a High School Work-Based Learning program. They can follow standard operating procedures, perform basic math, complete required on-the-job and safety training, and support yarn/creel operations by monitoring, changing packages, and performing daily autonomous maintenance.
