About this role
GovCIO is hiring a Cyber Security Associate to support foundational cybersecurity and ATO activities for VA systems, including documentation, evidence collection, and Continuous Monitoring using ServiceNow CAM; fully remote within the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and updating ATO documentation
- Support CAM artifact uploads and dashboards
- Support Continuous Monitoring tasks
- Coordinate vulnerability scanning
- Collect data for POA&M updates
Technical Overview
Foundational cybersecurity work involving RMF, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and POA&M; ServiceNow CAM and VA GRC tooling for continuous monitoring and vulnerability management.
Ideal Candidate
A junior cybersecurity professional with RMF/NIST knowledge, POA&M and VA GRC tooling familiarity, eager to grow in a remote VA/Gov setting.
Must-Have Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer ScienceCyber SecurityInformation Systemsor similar; OR equivalent experience or certifications.0–2 years of cybersecurity experienceFamiliarity with RMFNIST SP 800-53 security controlscreating and updating artifacts and FISMA security documentscontrol implementation detailsand POA&M.Basic understanding of vulnerability scanning toolsATO processesor GRC workflows.Foundational understanding of security concepts such as riskcomplianceconfiguration managementand incident response.Willingness to learn VA GRC tools such as eMASS and ServiceNow CAM.Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Eligibility Requirements: Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and have resided in the United States for a minimum of three (3) years.
