About this role
Own and continuously improve data center controls by supporting and troubleshooting the building management system (BMS) and electrical power monitoring system (EPMS). Manage BMS/EPMS lifecycle activities including commissioning, vendor coordination, and operational support for in-service data centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and maintain BMS and EPMS systems for AWS data centers
- Manage BMS & EPMS improvement project scope, schedule, finance, and execution
- Develop and iterate controls sequence of operation (SOO) and controls logic programming
- Coordinate vendor and commissioning activities, including review and resolution of quarterly maintenance action items
- Provide on-call technical support and report project status to Controls and stakeholders
Technical Overview
The role centers on BMS and EPMS controls for major data center power and mechanical infrastructure components (generators, UPS, switchgear, PDUs, chillers, pumps, CRAHs). You will develop and iterate controls sequences of operation (SOO), implement controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces, and support commissioning and maintenance improvements.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level Data Center Controls Engineer with 4+ years supporting power management and power monitoring systems, including building management system (BMS) and electrical power monitoring system (EPMS) troubleshooting and lifecycle support. They are strong in controls sequencing (SOO), controls logic programming, commissioning, and vendor/GC coordination, with experience improving data center control and monitoring infrastructure.
