About this role
Amazon is hiring a Controls Technician to support data center deployment and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS). The role focuses on installing, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and documenting controls equipment and associated sensors and controllers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, service, and upgrade BMS and EPMS systems across multiple data centers
- Mentor and train Facilities team members on BMS/EPMS operation
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance of programming code and hardware
- Commissioning support and root cause analysis during testing and startup
- Create red-lined drawings and follow change management to generate work requests
Technical Overview
You will work with field sensors, controllers, wiring, networking, and programming for industrial controls systems. Responsibilities include point-to-point checkouts, diagnostics, provisioning for servers and controllers, interpreting electrical schematics, supporting commissioning and systems-level testing, and performing root-cause analysis for BMS/EPMS issues.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Controls Technician with hands-on experience installing, troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining BMS (Building Management Systems) and EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring System) equipment in mission-critical environments like data centers. They can read electrical schematics and control panel drawings, perform diagnostics and commissioning, and complete documentation such as red-lined drawings while following safety and change-management processes.
