About this role
This role supports a new AWS data center site launch and helps ensure overall availability and reliability of data center operations. You will perform hardware and network diagnostics, complete physical repairs, and participate in an on-call rotation across day and evening shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed service levels.
- Perform in-depth hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
- Lift/move heavy equipment (up to 40 pounds; group lifts for 41+ pounds).
- Support regional travel during initial ramp-up and training.
Technical Overview
The position is hands-on and operations-focused, emphasizing hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair work in a 24/7 data center environment. Security clearance requirements are central to eligibility, with Top Secret (SCI eligibility) required and TS/SCI with polygraph required/maintained after start.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level Data Center Technician who can perform in-depth hardware and network diagnostics and complete physical repairs while supporting a 24/7 data center operations environment. They must be a US citizen and already hold an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility, with the ability to maintain or obtain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph as required. Availability for day and evening shifts and participation in on-call rotation are key.
