About this role
Amazon’s North American Stores Expansion team is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data models and ML pipelines using AWS. The role focuses on optimizing retail and supply chain processes, improving automation, and driving data-driven insights through cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable data models, ETL/ELT processes, and ML pipelines using AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation)
- Analyze business data to optimize key processes in Retail and Supply Chain domains
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Scientists, Engineers, Program Managers) to deliver data solutions and implement predictive models
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines while ensuring data governance, security, and compliance standards
- Monitor, optimize, and enhance data infrastructure to support analytics and machine learning
Technical Overview
You will implement ETL/ELT and ML pipelines on Amazon Web Services, leveraging Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, Amazon Athena, and Amazon Lake Formation. You will establish CI/CD for data deployments and ensure data governance, security, and compliance while monitoring and optimizing the analytics and machine learning infrastructure.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced Data Engineer (Data Engineer II level) who has built and maintained scalable data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and ML pipelines on Amazon Web Services. They have strong data mining and modeling skills, can automate analytics and modeling projects at medium to large scale, and communicate clearly to cross-functional teams and leadership.
