About this role

Wayvia is hiring a Data Engineer III to lead the design, development, and maintenance of its data infrastructure and pipelines. The role focuses on data integrity, data quality, and governance of dbt models and a consistent semantic layer across BI and AI consumers.

Key Responsibilities

Lead design and delivery of data engineering solutions and pipelines
Establish automated data quality standards (tests, anomaly detection, freshness SLAs)
Write and govern dbt models in Snowflake with testing and documentation
Maintain a consistent semantic layer for metrics and entity relationships across consumers
Support Snowflake and Looker administration alongside the data platform team

Technical Overview

You will build ELT pipelines and production dimensional models, author dbt models/tests/docs, and enforce data quality standards such as automated tests, anomaly detection, and freshness SLAs. The stack includes Snowflake, dbt, and Looker, with emphasis on consistent metric definitions and entity relationships through a shared semantic layer.

The ideal candidate is a mid-level Data Engineer with 5+ years of data engineering experience building and maintaining ELT pipelines and dimensional data models in production. They have strong hands-on Snowflake expertise and are proficient with dbt for model development, testing, documentation, and governance, with advanced SQL and CI/CD using Git-based workflows.
