About this role
Data Science Intern at StreetLight Data (San Francisco) contributing to data quality for vehicular counter data and modelling across mobility analytics; collaborates with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Product Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate outliers and data anomalies in permanent counter datasets
- Implement changes and edits to permanent counter locations to improve modelling processes
- Propose improvements to counter quality criteria
- Communicate results to stakeholders with documentation and visualizations
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Product Managers to ensure data sources meet quality standards
Technical Overview
Work with geospatial data (ArcGIS or QGIS); SQL databases (PostgreSQL/BigQuery); Python or R; produce visualizations and thorough documentation to ensure data quality.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a graduate student in Urban Planning, Transportation or related Engineering with geospatial data experience (ArcGIS/QGIS), SQL and Python or R, and strong communication for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
