Data Science Intern (Year-Round)

Data Science Intern in BorgWarner's Corporate Advanced Technology Development team will support AI/ML solution development for proof-of-concept projects. The role combines data analysis, model development, and collaboration with engineering teams in a hybrid on-site setting in Auburn Hills, MI.

• collaborate with engineering teams to understand challenges and requirements
• support machine learning model development: data prep, feature engineering, model optimization, data visualization
• assist in model deployment, testing, and performance analysis
• prepare comprehensive model documentation and share findings
• assist in data collection using fleet vehicles

Stack includes Python, MATLAB, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, with data processing in Jupyter Notebooks. Responsibilities cover data preparation, feature engineering, model training, deployment, and documentation.

The ideal candidate is a data science intern with 0-2 years of coursework in machine learning and analytics, strong Python and data analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineering teams on-site three days per week. They should be motivated to learn and adapt to new tools in a hybrid work environment.
