About this role
This role leads data science efforts for credit card pricing and profitability modeling using customer data, macro factors, and treatment effects. The manager builds and deploys explainable, causal models that support differentiated decision-making across the consumer lending organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, and deployment of pricing models
- Perform exploratory data analysis and iterate features and model types
- Develop proofs of concept with counterfactual explanations for interpretability
- Support model validation and model back testing
- Build automated predictive model validation/deployment pipelines and production-ready code
Technical Overview
The scope includes exploratory data analysis, iterative feature transformation and model selection (regression and machine learning), proof-of-concept development with counterfactual explanations, and productionization via automated validation and deployment pipelines. It also covers model validation/back testing, cloud-based ecosystems for on-demand compute, and disciplined version control using Git in an Agile environment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior data science leader with 6+ years leading the design, development, and deployment of pricing models, specifically for Credit Cards. They have expert Python experience, strong statistical and financial modeling skills (loss forecasting, utilization, P&L, and cash flow analysis), and can build causal, explainable models using counterfactual explanations. They also mentor data scientists and manage multiple project teams in an Agile environment.
