Data Scientist , Amazon Business

This Data Scientist role within Amazon Business Data Insights and Analytics leads research and thought leadership to drive the company’s data and insights strategy. You will build predictive and optimization models and implement detection systems that analyze customer behavior to identify abuse and fraud.

• Research and experiment with predictive and optimization models
• Design and implement advanced detection systems for customer behavior analysis
• Use data signals to identify potential abuse and fraudulent activities
• Prototype models using R or Python and measure accuracy and performance metrics
• Create and enhance technical documentation and collaborate cross-functionally

You will work with diverse data signals (customer profiles, purchase patterns, and network associations) using state-of-the-art machine learning techniques and AWS services. The role includes prototyping models using R or Python, measuring accuracy/performance metrics, and maintaining technical documentation.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Data Scientist with 2+ years of data science experience, strong SQL and Python (and/or R) skills, and a track record applying machine learning/statistical modeling techniques. They can prototype predictive and optimization models, build detection systems for fraud and abuse, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams while leveraging AWS services.
