About this role
You will join the Sponsored Products Auction team to analyze and improve mechanisms that rank and price billions of ad impressions daily. The role includes building statistical and machine learning models, defining auction efficiency metrics, performing exploratory data analysis, and partnering with cross-functional scientists and engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Solve real-world problems by analyzing large datasets and identifying business insights
- Write code (Python, R, Scala, SQL) to obtain, manipulate, and analyze data
- Apply statistical and machine learning knowledge to business problems
- Build decision-making models and propose solutions
- Analyze historical data and identify trends; define and investigate outliers/anomalies
Technical Overview
This is a data science role focused on auction efficiency and input quality measurement (supply, demand, and ML model predictions). You will write code in Python/R/Scala/SQL for data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis; develop models, simulations, and experiments; and perform outlier/anomaly investigation with clear communication.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior Data Scientist who can analyze large-scale advertising and auction data, define and measure auction efficiency, and build statistical and machine learning models. They are proficient in Python, R, Scala, and SQL and can run simulations and experiments while partnering with Economists, Applied Scientists, Engineers, and Product Managers.
