Data Scientist II, Amazon Business

Amazon Business is hiring a Data Scientist II to lead research and thought leadership for data and insights strategy. The role focuses on building predictive and optimization models and detection systems that analyze customer behavior to identify abuse and fraud.

• Frame business problems into scalable solutions
• Gather data required for analysis and model building
• Prototype predictive and optimization models using R and Python
• Create and track accuracy and performance metrics
• Create, enhance, and maintain technical documentation

You will design, implement, and prototype machine learning models using Python/R and data querying with SQL, leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS). Responsibilities include creating accuracy and performance metrics, producing technical documentation, and working with cross-functional teams to move prototypes toward production.

The ideal candidate is a mid-level Data Scientist with 2+ years of Data Scientist experience and strong hands-on experience in SQL and Python for machine learning and statistical modeling. They have built predictive and optimization models, created detection systems for abuse and fraud, and can measure accuracy and performance while collaborating with cross-functional business and software teams.
