Data Scientist focused on Risk and User Experience to help Sleeper scale safely; build real-time analytics to understand onboarding and user behavior, detect fraud, and partner with product/engineering to improve platform integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Growth and User Experience
- Build scalable analytics systems for evaluation of user journeys
- Partner with engineering to implement real-time event tracking
- Define schemas and instrumentation for user activity
- Develop risk/integrity insights and adaptive user flows
Technical Overview
Stack includes Python and R for analytics, SQL/Hive/Spark/Airflow for data processing, Firebase/Amplitude for event tracking, and ML methods for classification, clustering, and anomaly detection.

The ideal candidate is a data scientist with 4+ years in analytics or ML, strong Python and R skills, and experience building real-time event-tracking and fraud signals; comfortable partnering with product, engineering, and operations to improve platform integrity.
