Data Scientist Segment Lead responsible for leading and shaping PPG's enterprise Data Science capability with emphasis on materials science and process-centric analytics across manufacturing, supply chain, and customer-facing functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the PPG Data Science practice, setting technical standards and methodologies
- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models across enterprise functions
- Guide teams from problem framing through deployment
- Ensure model performance and value capture
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed data science into workflows
Technical Overview
Lead design, development, and deployment of AI/ML and statistical models; domain modeling; cross-functional enablement; data strategy and governance; model monitoring.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior data scientist (segment lead) with 5+ years of experience in materials/chemistry-adjacent data science, proven leadership, and a track record deploying analytics to production; strong executive communication and cross-functional influence are required.
