About this role
USAA is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for Auto & Property Modeling within the Underwriting & Pricing Analytics Modeling Factory. The role maintains and enhances advanced pricing and demand models using scalable, modular processes and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop scalable automated machine learning, simulation, and optimization solutions
- Develop and deploy models within Model Development Control (MDC) and Model Risk Management (MRM) framework
- Build and maintain reusable, production-quality algorithms and code
- Translate business requests into analytical questions and communicate outcomes
- Manage model and project milestones, risks, and impediments
Technical Overview
You will work with structured and unstructured data to build machine learning, simulation, and optimization solutions. Models will be developed and deployed within the Model Development Control (MDC) and Model Risk Management (MRM) framework, supported by reusable production-quality algorithms and clear technical documentation for risk management and review audiences.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Senior Data Scientist with strong experience building underwriting and pricing models using machine learning, simulation, and optimization. They have worked within Model Development Control (MDC) and Model Risk Management (MRM) frameworks and can translate business requests into analytical questions and production-quality model solutions. They are comfortable collaborating cross-functionally and explaining results to non-technical stakeholders while managing model risks and project milestones.
