About this role
This role is responsible for administering and supporting an enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environment across development, test, and production. The DBA handles incidents, monitors performance, and automates routine operational tasks using T-SQL, PowerShell, and Python.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support enterprise Microsoft SQL Server across development, test, and production
- Respond to database incidents and resolve within established SLA timeframes
- Monitor performance using enterprise monitoring tools and perform tuning
- Develop automation scripts for provisioning, backups, and maintenance tasks
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support
Technical Overview
You will administer Microsoft SQL Server with responsibilities spanning backup/recovery, security compliance, maintenance (index maintenance, statistics updates), deployments, and incident resolution within SLA timeframes. The role also includes performance monitoring and tuning (query optimization, index tuning, resolving blocking/deadlocks) and automation of operational tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and Python.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a database administrator with 3+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in an enterprise environment. They are strong in backup and recovery, T-SQL scripting and automation, and performance troubleshooting using monitoring tools, with experience supporting incidents within SLA timeframes.
