Key Responsibilities

Design and architect database systems optimized for Chess.com's workloads
Build internal tooling and automation for deployment and migration
Develop data pipelines and ETL for analytics and ML features

Technical Overview

Focus on MySQL (Percona) with Python/Go tooling, data pipelines, Redis caching, Linux systems, and IaC (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi), with strong emphasis on observability and query optimization.

The ideal candidate is an experienced database engineer with 5+ years of production MySQL (Percona) experience, strong scripting (Python/Go), and deep knowledge of data pipelines and distributed systems.
