About this role
As a Data Center Technician, you deploy, configure, and maintain server platforms in a secure, high-density lab environment. You perform component-level reconfigurations, OS installation/imaging, first-line triage for hardware and network issues, and collaborate with engineering teams through Jira.
Key Responsibilities
- Rack, stack, and cable pre-production servers and test systems
- Perform component level work swapping CPUs, GPUs, DIMMs, PCIe cards, and storage devices
- Flash and update firmware, BIOS, and BMC/IPMI configurations
- Install, configure, and image operating systems (enterprise Linux distributions and Windows Server)
- Perform first-line triage for hardware and network connectivity issues and assist root-cause analysis
Technical Overview
Work spans pre-production server hardware deployment (rack/stack/cabling and swapping CPUs/GPUs/DIMMs/PCIe/storage), firmware and firmware-adjacent configuration (BIOS and BMC/IPMI), and OS installation/image workflows on enterprise Linux distributions and Windows Server. Includes troubleshooting of hardware and network connectivity problems and isolating failing components for engineering root-cause analysis.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level data center technician with hands-on server hardware experience, strong Linux command-line proficiency, and the ability to image and configure enterprise operating systems. They can rack/stack/cable pre-production systems, perform IPMI/BMC and BIOS updates, and handle first-line triage for hardware and network issues while collaborating through Jira.
