Position Details
About this role
This is a college internship/coop role supporting Database Administrator and Data Engineering activities. You will assist with SQL Server operational tasks and help build data pipelines and data lakehouse components using Azure services and Snowflake.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist DBAs with routine SQL Server tasks including health checks, index maintenance, job monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Help build, test, and maintain data pipelines in Azure Data Factory and Snowflake
- Support ingestion, organization, and optimization of data in Azure Data Lake Storage
- Contribute to dbt models and transformations under guidance
- Participate in code reviews and documentation practices
Technical Overview
Work across a Microsoft-centric data environment including Microsoft SQL Server administration and cloud data engineering using Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake Storage. Support lakehouse development with dbt models and transformations and contribute to data governance, documentation, and operational reliability practices.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a college intern interested in growing into a Database Administrator or Data Engineer. They have foundational SQL Server knowledge (backups, restores, monitoring, and performance tuning) and hands-on familiarity with Azure data tooling such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake Storage, plus experience with Snowflake and dbt for modeling and transformations.
