Design Engineer, Fauna

Fauna Robotics (an Amazon company) is hiring a Design Engineer to own mechanical component and assembly design from concept through production release. The role is heavily focused on CAD work and must ensure designs are manufacturable through DFM, tooling, and iterative prototype builds with manufacturing partners.

• Own detailed 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation in Onshape
• Lead DFM reviews for injection molded parts and resolve manufacturability issues
• Own end-to-end tooling development process (RFQ, vendor selection, tool design review, T0/T1/T2 sampling, first article approval)
• Manage tooling vendor relationships, redline tooling designs, and review mold flow analyses
• Support EVT/DVT prototype build cycles and tolerance stack-up analysis/fit verification

You will create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings in Onshape, with a primary focus on injection molding and CNC machining. The job includes leading DFM reviews, driving end-to-end tooling development (RFQ through sampling and first article approval), reviewing mold flow analyses and vendor DFM feedback, and supporting tolerance stack-up and fit/function verification during EVT/DVT cycles.

The ideal candidate is a Design Engineer experienced in CAD-intensive mechanical design, owning detailed 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation in Onshape for production-ready parts. They have hands-on injection molding and tooling expertise, including full DFM reviews and end-to-end tooling development (RFQ through T0/T1/T2 sampling and first article approval), and can collaborate cross-functionally with industrial design, manufacturing, and quality teams through EVT/DVT iterations.
