About this role
This role is a mechanical engineering position in R&D for animal identification technology, focused on developing handheld tools and tags for traceability. You will lead mechanical development activities from concept through tooling readiness, integration, and verification, while collaborating with stakeholders and publishing results.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical design for animal identification products (handheld tools and tags)
- Develop products covering ergonomics and environmental impact
- Prepare products “ready for tooling” including molds and tools development
- Execute mechanical development work plans with integration and verification
- Research innovative concepts and report results to peers and management
Technical Overview
The job centers on mechanical product development using CAD design software and surface design, with knowledge of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection, die casting, machining, and assembling. It includes execution of mechanical development work plans and integration/verification activities, with quality and reliability emphasis and possible UAT and UX-related contributions.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mechanical development engineer with hands-on experience designing handheld animal identification products and tags, including work across plastic injection, die casting, machining, and assembly. They are strong in CAD design (surface design), tooling/mold readiness, and execution of integration and verification with quality and reliability focus.
