About this role
This is a developmental role that trains you for the District Sales Manager (DSM) path within Nucor Building Systems Texas. You will learn the product and sales process through workshops, department rotations, mentoring/shadowing, and self-study, with monthly travel and eventual relocation into a sales territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend monthly workshops and complete self-study
- Rotate through departments to learn products and production process
- Shadow and learn from current DSMs across territories
- Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies and housekeeping standards
- Relocate into assigned sales territory after ~12-month program
Technical Overview
The role emphasizes understanding metal building systems, sales strategies, structural design fundamentals, and the ability to interpret drawings/specifications to support building proposals. It is primarily customer-facing sales training rather than software/IT work.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level, learning-driven professional with a postsecondary degree and hands-on technical sales or customer service experience related to engineering and construction. They are comfortable using Microsoft Office, traveling regularly for workshops and territory shadowing, and can demonstrate strong safety leadership while building knowledge of metal building systems and sales strategies.
