About this role

Diagnostic Mechanic I - Rod Mill performs routine and non-routine maintenance to repair, install, fabricate, rebuild, and maintain process equipment. The role emphasizes safe production, autonomous work under required supervision, and compliance with MSHA/OSHA and Environmental procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and non-routine maintenance activities
Complete work orders and other maintenance documentation
Repair, install, fabricate, rebuild, and perform preventative maintenance of process equipment (pumps, conveyors, dryers, gearboxes, filters)
Apply mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, bearings, plumbing, and alignment; perform equipment lubrication
Follow MSHA and/or OSHA rules, Environmental rules, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP); operate small and large cranes and rig safely

Technical Overview

Supports rod mill process equipment reliability by maintaining pumps, conveyors, dryers, gearboxes, and filters, including preventative maintenance and lubrication. Works across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and applies machine shop and alignment skills, with qualification to operate cranes and follow safe rigging practices.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an entry-level diagnostic mechanic with 2+ years of mechanical/maintenance craft experience in industrial repair and preventative maintenance. They can independently execute routine and non-routine maintenance, complete work orders/documentation, and work safely while complying with MSHA, OSHA, and Environmental requirements.

Must-Have Skills
