The Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Technician role performs repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, light service equipment, and light trucks. The technician diagnoses mechanical issues, completes repair documentation, and supports fleet reporting using company systems.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical problems on heavy equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance and overhauls on gas or diesel engines
  • Read and interpret equipment condition reports and repair orders
  • Complete paperwork, including parts usage and work order/time card time accounting
  • Complete daily consumables reports for hours, fuel, and oil usage

You will troubleshoot and repair systems including hydraulics, engines, transmissions, electrical, brakes, suspension, HVAC, and emission systems, including Tier 4 emission systems knowledge. Work includes using oil sampling and on-board computer data, and maintaining accurate work order and consumables reports.

The ideal candidate is a heavy equipment technician with at least 1 year of hands-on experience repairing diesel and gasoline vehicles and performing preventative maintenance. They bring strong ASE-aligned skills across air brakes, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, and emission systems, with solid OSHA Haz Com, OSHA Lock Out Tag Out, and OSHA Fire Protection knowledge.
