Position Details
About this role
Engineering role focused on building and enforcing cryptographic security controls for U.S. Bank's digital asset custody ecosystem, including MPC-based schemes, HD wallets, and threshold signatures. Will partner with Information Security Services and custody teams to design guardrails for secure custody/sub-custody of digital assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead secure design for HD wallets and key distribution
- Develop guardrails for MPC protocols and cryptographic schemes
- Ensure authentication/authorization for custody transactions
- Partner with ISS to develop security frameworks
- Guide adoption of custody vendor solutions
Technical Overview
Scope includes MPC cryptography, Shamir's Secret Sharing, ZKP, ECDSA/EdDSA, and threshold signature schemes; requires experience with HD wallets, key storage/distribution, and integrating with custody vendors (Fire Blocks, IBM DA Haven, Metaco, Gnosis Safe).
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level cybersecurity engineer with 2+ years of Secure Multi-Party Computation design or engineering experience in a financial setting, strong knowledge of Shamir's Secret Sharing, ZKP, and ECDSA/EdDSA, and hands-on work with HD wallets and custody solutions. They should be capable of leading secure design efforts and collaborating across Information Security and custodial teams, with willingness to work onsite 3+ days per week.
