About this role
This position is responsible for directing facility operations, including maintenance and grounds keeping, while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulatory standards. The director also serves as the facility Safety Officer and leads the Environment of Care Committee, overseeing additional Plant Operations departments including dietary, environmental services, and IT.
Key Responsibilities

- Maintain compliance with applicable codes, standards of government and regulatory agencies
- Serve as the facility Safety Officer and lead the Environment of Care Committee
- Oversee dietary, environmental services, and IT departments as part of Plant Operations
- Collaborate with healthcare and community stakeholders to develop operations plans, evaluate risk, and monitor compliance
Technical Overview
The role requires facility engineering/operations competency: blueprint reading, Life Safety Code compliance, NFPA standards, OSHA Regulations, plus technical understanding of Ohm's Law and refrigeration theory. It also involves risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and development of operations plans for multiple locations.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an executive-level facilities/plant operations leader with at least 4 years of related experience and at least 1 year of management experience. They can read blueprints and demonstrate deep knowledge of Life Safety Code, NFPA standards, and OSHA Regulations, along with understanding Ohm's Law and refrigeration theory. They are comfortable leading committees (Environment of Care, quality, and patient safety) and managing compliance across multiple facility departments including maintenance, dietary, environmental services, and IT.
