Director of Engineering - Platform Services leads Core Platform Services, managing ~30 engineers across four teams to deliver platform capabilities, drive modernization, and govern production systems in a hybrid Seattle setting.

Technical Overview
Scope includes infrastructure platforms powering Nordstrom's technology stack with a focus on cloud-native architecture, automation, self-service tooling, and multi-cloud operations, balancing reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior engineering leader with 10+ years in software/infrastructure, 5+ years of managing leaders, and strong experience modernizing platforms in retail/e-commerce environments. Expertise in cloud-native architecture, automation, and multiple cloud platforms with a track record of balancing innovation with reliability and cost efficiency is expected.
Must-Have Skills
