Director of Infrastructure Engineering

This role leads IT Finance for Infrastructure Engineering at Expedia Group, owning financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range modeling for infrastructure cost centers. The director will also run Software Asset Management (SAM), drive cost optimization, and create costing models to compare hybrid data center spend versus hyperscaler costs.

• Own the IT finance strategy for Infrastructure Engineering
• Own Software Asset Management (SAM) program, licensing and maintenance spend
• Build and maintain cost transparency down to cost center, platform, and service level
• Design and run the financial operating model and drive cost optimization
• Develop costing models comparing hybrid data center spend versus hyperscaler costs

The technical scope is financial ownership of the Infrastructure Engineering platform ecosystem, including SAM governance, licensing/maintenance spend oversight, and data-driven decision support for where and how workloads run at scale. Emphasis is on cost transparency and unit economics reporting at cost center, platform, and service levels.

The ideal candidate is an infrastructure-focused IT finance leader who has owned financial strategy, forecasting, and cost transparency for Infrastructure Engineering organizations. They have strong experience running Software Asset Management (SAM) programs and building costing models that compare hybrid data center spend versus hyperscaler costs, partnering closely with Finance and Technology leadership to deliver accurate, actionable financial data.
