About this role
This role is responsible for leading technical programs as a Director of Technical Program Management at Capital One. The position emphasizes mitigating technical risk, driving execution across teams, and using a systems-thinking approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical program delivery and manage technical risks
- Build and grow a team of TPMs
- Drive cross-functional execution across product, engineering, design, and data science
- Simplify technically complex decisions for stakeholders

Technical Overview
The role focuses on scalable platform and product delivery with experience in technical risk mitigation across the delivery life-cycle. Preferred experience includes distributed computing, distributed systems, highly available services, AWS/Amazon Web Services, and Agile delivery.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a TPM leader with 7+ years managing technical programs and a strong technical background in scalable platforms, products, or services. They demonstrate deep execution skills, excellent communication/influence, and experience guiding teams across product, engineering, design, and data science—ideally with distributed computing and AWS/Amazon Web Services.
