Entry-level to mid-level role focused on operating and restoring the electric distribution system safely and reliably, including switching, tagging, and outage response during storms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise electrical switching, placement of safety tags and testing; Respond to outages and emergencies; Maintain system voltages and loads; Gather and analyze system data for switching; Develop emergency switching plans and switching routines

Technical Overview

Operates the distribution system with real-time monitoring, SCADA and OMS tooling; coordinates switching procedures, safety tagging, and line clearances; supports emergency restoration and outage management.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a mid-level Distribution System Operator with 1+ year of distribution system operations experience, strong switching and tagging skills, and SCADA/OMS experience; must be able to work extended hours during outages or storms.
