About this role
This role drives Class B CDL delivery vehicles to transport and deliver building materials to customer sites while ensuring compliance with driver safety requirements. The driver also supports loading/unloading and maintains accurate delivery logs, DVIR/HOS documentation, and order accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Class B CDL delivery vehicles and deliver materials to customer sites
- Maintain compliance with DVIR and HOS using hand held devices and inspection procedures
- Verify order details against invoice and maintain delivery logs (weights, mileage, locations)
- Operate forklift or non-motorized material handling equipment to load and off load materials
- Provide professional customer service and handle delivery concerns
Technical Overview
The technical scope centers on commercial driving compliance (DVIR and Hours of Service) and vehicle inspection processes, supported by use of hand held devices. The role also includes safe material handling at stops, including operating a forklift or non-motorized material handling equipment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Class B CDL driver with at least 1 year of delivery driving experience and a record that supports a passing MVR report. They understand DVIR and HOS compliance, can complete pre/post trip inspections, and provide professional customer service while delivering and safely unloading building materials (often using a forklift).
