About this role
Amazon is hiring an Economist for the Customer Experience and Business Trends organization to improve customer experience through economic modeling and analytics. The role focuses on building econometric and causal machine learning models that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop econometric models and causal machine learning models at scale
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate research into scalable solutions
- Write business narratives and scientific papers for business and technical audiences
- Drive data-driven decision making to improve customer experience
- Use advanced analytics and scalable scientific solutions to support strategic decision-making
Technical Overview
You will develop econometric models and apply causal inference, machine learning, and generative AI using world-class data systems. You will also perform prediction and forecasting work when applicable, and communicate results via scientific papers and business narratives.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an economist with a PhD in economics (or equivalent) who has built econometric models and applied causal inference, machine learning, and generative AI at scale. They have strong experience writing scientific papers and translating analysis into business narratives that improve customer experience.
