About this role
The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer provides technical expertise and engineering support for electrical power systems and instrumentation/control systems to ensure safe, reliable, efficient plant operation. The role supports day-to-day plant needs and long-term improvement initiatives, and contributes to capital project scopes and technical inputs for E&I portions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate across engineering, operations, maintenance, reliability, and EHS&S to support safe, reliable plant operation
- Provide technical support for electrical power distribution systems (up to 34.5 kV) including switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, and protective relays
- Support instrumentation and control systems including transmitters, analyzers, flow, level, gas detection, and safety instrumented systems
- Troubleshoot, test, commission, and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment to improve on stream reliability
- Develop E&I scope and provide technical input for capital and maintenance funded projects from concept through construction and startup
Technical Overview
This role covers electrical power distribution from low voltage through medium voltage (up to 34.5 kV), including switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, and protective relays. It also supports instrumentation and control systems such as transmitters, analyzers, flow/level measurement, gas detection, and safety instrumented systems, with responsibilities spanning troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and repair plus E&I scope development and design package preparation.

The ideal candidate is an E&I engineer who can provide technical expertise for electrical power distribution and instrumentation/control systems to ensure safe, reliable plant operation. They have strong troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning experience and can develop E&I scope and technical inputs for capital and maintenance projects from concept through startup.
