About this role
This role is an Electrical Intern position supporting industrial electrical work at Nucor Steel Auburn. The intern will learn safety fundamentals, assist with preventive/corrective maintenance, and support control systems and data collection for Arc Flash studies and CMMS implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop understanding of industrial safety
- Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance
- Learn control systems across the Rolling Mill & Melt shop
- Collect data for Arc Flash studies and CMMS implementation
- Use Microsoft Office Suite for basic computer tasks and reporting needs
Technical Overview
The intern will work alongside Nucor electricians to support preventive and corrective maintenance. They will develop an understanding of control systems across the Rolling Mill & Melt shop, collect data for Arc Flash studies, and contribute to CMMS implementation.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an Electrical Technology student (or equivalent) with a GPA of 3.0+ in electrical courses who can support industrial safety practices while assisting with preventive and corrective maintenance. They can work with rolling mill and melt shop control systems and perform data collection for Arc Flash studies and CMMS implementation. They also have basic computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, ideally including Excel.
