About this role
Westlake is hiring a Continental Shift Electrician responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of plant utilities and electrical systems. The role includes troubleshooting equipment, wiring panels, programming PLCs, reading and updating electrical drawings, and maintaining accurate CMMS records while following all safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of plant utilities
- Troubleshoot and repair machinery/equipment
- Wire new and revise existing machinery panels
- Programming of PLC's and interpreting/revising ladder logic drawings
- Maintain accurate records in a CMMS and report work/time to Maintenance Manager
Technical Overview
This is an industrial electrical maintenance position focused on PLC programming and ladder logic, panel wiring, conduit/bussways installation, and lighting systems (high-intensity discharge, fluorescent, incandescent, and emergency lighting). Work is documented in a CMMS and performed under maintenance management software procedures, with strong troubleshooting and technical drawing interpretation.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a qualified 442A Electrician with 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including preventative maintenance and machine/equipment troubleshooting. They can program PLCs, read ladder logic and technical drawings, maintain accurate records in a CMMS, and handle electrical installations such as wiring panels, conduit, bussways, and emergency lighting. The candidate is comfortable with rotating continental shifts and working overtime/weekends.
