About this role
Provides crisis intake and admission coordination for pediatric mental health crises. Responds to clinical inquiry calls, conducts crisis assessments, and triages care while coordinating with physicians and the admissions team.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to clinical inquiry calls and perform crisis assessments
- Oversee admission paperwork and pre-certifications
- Coordinate with physicians regarding admission appropriateness and bed availability
- Maintain confidentiality and release of information per policy
- De-escalate and stabilize crises as part of multidisciplinary team
Technical Overview
Clinical intake and crisis management within an emergency services framework. Utilizes DSM-V criteria, knowledge of psychotropic medications, and evidence-based crisis interventions such as CBT and Trauma-Informed Care; ensures compliance with confidentiality laws and admission pre-certifications.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level master's‑level clinician with 2+ years of psychiatric experience, licensed or eligible in Illinois (LCSW/LPC/LSW/LCPC), and skilled in crisis assessment, de-escalation, and admission coordination. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus and the candidate thrives in a fast-paced emergency services environment.
