About this role
Engineer I - Instrumentation and Controls provides engineering support for site projects by assisting with technical advice, reviewing and developing recommendations, and contributing to construction and modification efforts. The role also includes vendor contract administration and building knowledge of applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with technical advice and guidance for engineering projects
- Review, investigate, and develop recommendations for assigned engineering projects
- Participate on small to medium site construction, expansion, or modification projects
- Administer contracts with vendors for services and equipment
- Develop working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations appropriate to the assignment
Technical Overview
The role emphasizes foundational engineering principles with exposure to Instrumentation and Controls deliverables (PIDs, I/O, P&ID drawings) and optional familiarity with AutoCAD and Visio. Preferred growth areas include power systems engineering/studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination, Arc flash study) and process automation system design.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level Engineer I (Instrumentation and Controls) with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. They should be comfortable with engineering principles, safety practices, and communicating clearly, with preferred exposure to Instrumentation and Controls deliverables (PIDs/I/O) and AutoCAD/Visio.
