About this role

Engineer Sr - Automation leads design, development, and deployment of control systems for Williams' energy facilities. Responsible for PLC programming, HMI/SCADA configuration, and integration with instrumentation, with travel up to 50%+.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs moderately difficult assignments to ensure system integrity, support pipeline operations, maintain compliance and facility equipment
  • Configures, builds, and maintains PLC/HMI programs; supports operations; develop and modify PLC programs; train technicians
  • Lead design of process control systems and evaluation/selection of equipment control systems
  • Ensure network infrastructure and cybersecurity guidelines compliance
  • Travel 50% of the time and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams

Technical Overview

Extensive experience with Rockwell and Siemens PLCs; Proficient in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA (FactoryTalk and Ignition), P&ID and electrical schematics; knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control networks; PE is preferred.

Ideal Candidate

Senior controls engineer with 8+ years of experience in natural gas or petrochemical industries, strong Rockwell/Siemens PLC expertise, HMI/SCADA experience, PE preferred. Ready to lead capital projects and travel up to 50%+.

Must-Have Skills

Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering fieldMinimum eight (8) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry

Nice-to-Have Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and minimum seven (7) years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry and PE Certification
