AECOM is seeking an Engineering Geologist II focused on dams and water structures to support Geo-Civil projects from its Orange, California office. The role involves field reconnaissance and mapping, subsurface data interpretation, and producing professional technical reports to support design and regulatory needs.

  • Perform geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for geologic hazards and site characterization
  • Support groundwater wells and geotechnical instrumentation (VWP's, inclinometers, transducers)
  • Interpret site conditions using geologic, geochemical, and geophysical data and prepare reports
  • Develop geologic models for complex site conditions
  • Liaison with regulatory agencies and collaborate with geotechnical/structural engineers on dam designs

You will perform geologic field reconnaissance and mapping, support groundwater well and geotechnical instrumentation installation (VWP's, inclinometers, transducers), and interpret geologic, geochemical, and geophysical data. You will develop geologic models and prepare geotechnical/geologic reports, potentially using software such as RocScience, Geo-Slope, and gINT.

The ideal candidate is an Engineering Geologist II with a BA/BS and 2+ years of relevant experience in geologic field work and site characterization. They can interpret geologic, geochemical, and geophysical data, prepare geotechnical/geologic reports, and support groundwater well and geotechnical instrumentation installation for dam and water structure projects.
