About this role
Product Engineering Technician for Twisted Pair Cable R&D; supports development, realization, and validation of prototype cables using both R&D lab resources and production-scale equipment; contributes to new product introduction, cost reduction initiatives, and process development.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, modify, and run prototype cable constructions using extrusion and twisting/stranding equipment
- Set up, operate, and adjust production-scale and R&D-scale machinery
- Document changes and outcomes to guide engineering decisions
- Execute experimental trials for new materials, designs, and process optimization studies
- Assist engineers in designing and assembling test setups and evaluation fixtures
Technical Overview
Hands-on with extrusion and cabling machinery, including primary extrusion, jacketing extrusion, and twisting/stranding equipment; documents experiments, runsheets, and tooling configurations; analyzes data and correlates results to process variables; uses Excel for data management.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level product engineering technician with 5+ years of hands-on extrusion experience, strong production-floor and R&D exposure, and familiarity with DOE trials and prototype development.
