About this role
This role supports environmental programs across composting facilities by managing environmental data, coordinating sampling and testing, and assisting with regulatory reporting and compliance. You will also help monitor and troubleshoot remote monitoring systems and train operational teams on processes and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain sampling schedules for compost feedstocks and products
- Maintain annual certifications including Organic certification and Dept of Agriculture registration
- Maintain centralized database of analytical results across facilities
- Compile monthly temperature monitoring and scale house tonnage data for reporting
- Support regulatory reporting and troubleshoot remote monitoring systems
Technical Overview
The position combines environmental data management with operational support: maintaining centralized records of analytical results, compiling temperature monitoring and scale house tonnage data, and reviewing site data for quality control/quality assurance. It also involves working with remote monitoring systems, coordinating with vendors, and producing quarterly and annual regulatory reports.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in an environmental science or related field and can support compost-facility environmental programs through sampling, testing coordination, and regulatory reporting. They are detail-oriented with strong analytical/problem-solving skills and are comfortable working with remote monitoring systems, Microsoft Excel, and quality control/quality assurance processes.
