External Manufacturing Operations Director

This role provides strategic and operational leadership for products manufactured by external partners supporting the Simtra site in Bloomington, IN. You will oversee production planning, materials management, quality, and technology issues while serving as the primary interface with external manufacturing partners and driving continuous improvement across the network.

• Provide leadership in dispute resolution with appropriate escalation
• Oversee production planning and materials management (SAP entries, E2E Planning, Logistics)
• Manage quality issues including deviation management, product release, and change control
• Address technology issues such as technology transfers, investigations, and process improvements
• Supervise shop floor production and determine ExM Quality/Technology representative deployment

The technical scope centers on external manufacturing execution and compliance, including dispute resolution, shopfloor oversight, deviation management, product release, and change control. It also includes technology transfer/investigations and operational planning using SAP entries and E2E Planning, plus MPS and end-to-end capacity and planning inputs.

The ideal candidate is an operations leader with deep experience overseeing external manufacturing networks, ensuring reliable, high-quality, and compliant supply. They have strong expertise in production planning, materials management (including SAP entries and E2E Planning), and quality systems such as deviation management, product release, and change control. They can lead issue resolution and continuous improvement across cross-functional stakeholders and external partners.
