About this role
This Field Engineer role (Engineer II) supports electrical construction through field and office engineering responsibilities. The position emphasizes interpreting drawings, performing quantities and takeoffs, supporting surveying and as-built data, coordinating work packages and material deliveries, and participating in jobsite safety processes including JHA's and toolbox meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
- Perform quantity calculations and material takeoffs to support progress measurement and field execution
- Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and as-built data
- Prepare Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's) and participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and safety training
- Order and schedule material deliveries and assist in preparing work plans, work packages, and submittal/transmittal data
Technical Overview
Technically, the role spans field engineering (surveying support, work layout including elevation and control points, as-built data compilation, and labor time documentation) and office engineering (material takeoffs, basic engineering calculations, and technical drafting). It also supports customer/vendor/subcontractor documentation workflows such as submittals and transmittals.
