About this role
This role strengthens the integrity of MassMutual’s financial data by providing governance, oversight, and data quality monitoring for finance data domains. You will maintain authoritative metadata, lineage, and catalog entries, define Critical Data Elements (CDEs), and coordinate remediation for data issues so reporting and decision-making rely on trusted data.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and accurate metadata, lineage, and catalog entries for assigned finance domains
- Identify and document Critical Data Elements (CDEs) including definitions, transformation logic, lineage, and data quality rules
- Monitor data quality (completeness, accuracy, timeliness) and resolve issues
- Validate daily data loads against governance and quality standards, investigate anomalies, coordinate remediation
- Enforce internal control standards and maintain transparency via transformation/validation/reconciliation documentation
Technical Overview
The work is centered on data governance for finance systems: maintaining metadata, data lineage, and catalog entries; validating daily data loads; monitoring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness; enforcing internal control standards; and documenting transformation rules, validation logic, and reconciliation controls for auditability.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level finance data governance professional with 7+ years of experience in financial data management or related roles and at least 3+ years focused on data governance and data quality. They have hands-on experience maintaining metadata, data lineage, and catalog entries, identifying Critical Data Elements (CDEs), and enforcing internal control standards around data quality monitoring. They can partner effectively with domain owners, data stewards, technology teams, and business users to resolve production data issues and improve trust in reporting data.
