About this role
This role is for a Structural Welder/Fitter responsible for producing high-quality welds on steel structural components while maintaining the highest safety standards. You will work with a welding partner, perform visual inspections, use measuring tools, and may operate equipment such as cranes, transfers, and magnetic drills on 2nd or 3rd shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete welding on structural steel components
- Work with a welding partner for coordinated fit and weld
- Operate cranes, transfers, and magnetic drills to assist fabrication
- Conduct full visual inspections for weld quality and compliance
- Maintain safety policies and housekeeping standards
Technical Overview
Primary technical scope includes MIG welding of structural steel, GMAW Weld Test readiness, visual quality verification, and fabrication support equipment operation (cranes, transfers, magnetic drills, grinders). Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation is a preferred capability.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a safety-focused structural welder/fitter who can pass a GMAW Weld Test and is proficient in MIG welding. They can perform visual inspections and use measuring tools accurately, and they are willing to work either 2nd or 3rd shift while collaborating with a welding partner to complete fabrication work.
