About this role
As a Fitter Welder for Nucor Towers & Structures, you will perform welding work supporting fabrication efforts tied to power distribution market growth. The role emphasizes safety and basic welding competency, with additional experience in MIG flux core welding and equipment handling as a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fitter welder welding work
- Maintain welding quality and follow safe working practices
- Meet baseline welding experience or equivalent welding training requirements
- Contribute to manufacturing/fabrication output in Nucor Towers & Structures
- Use related equipment experience (forklift/overhead crane) when applicable
Technical Overview
This is a welding-focused role with a requirement for welding experience or equivalent training. Technical scope includes MIG flux core welding (preferred) and practical fabrication environment experience such as working in manufacturing and operating/working around forklift and overhead crane capabilities (preferred).
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level welder with at least 6 months of welding experience (or equivalent welding training) and a high school diploma or GED. They will have strong safety awareness and may bring bonus experience with manufacturing, forklift operation, overhead cranes, and MIG flux core welding.
