About this role
Licensing engineer supporting Vistra Nuclear Fleet regulatory licensing activities, interfacing with NRC and other agencies to obtain/maintain licenses and permits, resolve regulatory issues, and submit required reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Vistra with NRC on licensing matters
- Maintain licensing basis documents and regulatory correspondence
- Serve as fleet liaison for licensing issues
- Review regulations and formulate regulatory positions
- Develop standardized practices for licensing activities
Technical Overview
Regulatory-focused engineering with emphasis on licensing bases, licensing amendments, and regulatory correspondence; requires knowledge of NRC processes, nuclear standards, and safety analyses; strong technical writing and communication skills.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior nuclear licensing engineer with 5+ years of experience in nuclear regulatory matters, NRC liaison experience, and strong technical writing skills. SRO license or related plant certification is a plus; must be capable of communicating regulatory positions clearly and maintaining licensing bases.
