About this role
The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor leads a maintenance shop responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs across a fleet. The supervisor directs technicians, oversees quality control and diagnostics, and ensures all work is performed safely and in compliance with company standards and federal/state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct A, B and C level and lead technicians for safe and timely repairs
- Monitor operational performance and redirect activities
- Conduct inspections (including outside repairs) and Quality Control Inspections
- Oversee repair diagnostics and coaching, including road testing
- Manage maintenance shop inventory control system and expense approvals
Technical Overview
This position oversees maintenance operations for diesel and alternate fuel trucks, plus containers and other heavy duty equipment. Core technical scope includes engine/emission/transmission/brake/hydraulic/electrical systems knowledge, repair diagnostics, road testing, and inventory control for parts and equipment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior fleet maintenance supervisor with experience leading technician teams in a maintenance shop environment. They should be strong in preventive maintenance, diagnostics, quality control inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and federal/state regulations.
